EQ works exactly the same way.
Most people manage the easy moments just fine. The hard work of leadership is not found in everyday, pleasant conversation. It is found in the complex, high stakes moments, like difficult feedback loops, boardroom disagreements, a team member whose behaviour is genuinely confusing, or the split second when an old personal trigger gets activated by a new situation.
