What changes
when the work is real.
These are not endorsements. They are accounts of what shifted — in careers, in relationships, in the way these leaders experience themselves under pressure. In their own words, unedited.
I had the privilege of working with James in the last few months, and his coaching completely shifted the way I think about both my career and my personal life. James has a unique ability to guide you into new perspectives, helping you see challenges and opportunities from angles you may never have considered before.
What impressed me most was how he explains the way our minds work and how emotions shape our decisions. By making these insights practical and relatable, James gave me tools I now use daily, not just in my career, but also in my family life.
His coaching reminded me that a change in perspective can create profound shifts. I look forward to learning even more from him in the future.
James has been coaching me for a bit over a year now. I don't exaggerate when I say that our sessions have been transformative for me; during that year, I developed a healthier relationship with work, lost a huge amount of weight in the process and was able to attain some of my long-standing dreams.
Through his coaching, I was able to understand that a healthier work-life balance is not to the detriment of professional success, but quite the contrary; it supports career success. As proof of it, all of this process ended with me being branded a key contributor in my company. James helped me by challenging my assumptions, offering alternative "brain paths" and tearing down my sometimes flaky arguments.
Transformation is an overused term these days but I can wholeheartedly say that the 6 months I was coached by James was transformative for me. Trust was developed extremely quickly and James was patient, challenging and supportive as we worked through numerous work and life scenarios. What sets James apart from other coaches is his ability to ask questions that get to the heart of the situation quickly whilst allowing you to get to a solution in your own time.
James Rees has been a truly transformative executive coach, particularly in developing my emotional intelligence to become a better leader. James has played a crucial role in my personal and professional development — his insights on human behaviour, fear, and leadership blind spots have proven invaluable. He has been a powerful guide in helping me develop techniques that have allowed me to foster a more psychologically safe and trust-driven team culture. James' expertise and experience are evident, he coaches at top business schools and brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to the table.
I have been inspired and motivated by James's infectious energy and enthusiasm towards challenges and his tenacity to achieve his goals and that of a team. James has been very influential in adapting the approach I take to tasks and how I also reflect upon performance and where improvements can be made to ensure that I reach my full potential. It was a real pleasure to work with James and I look forward to learning more from him in future.
James has been coaching me for about 6 months now and it has been absolutely transformative for me. I've really appreciated the combination of coaching, cognitive behavioural and mentoring techniques. I've developed deeper self awareness and resilience. Thank you James, looking forward to the continued coaching support.
Not behaviour. Not performance targets. The pattern beneath the behaviour — the thought running the feeling running the decision. If any of the accounts above have landed, the starting point is a conversation.
